Southern Sudan ruling party campaigns in Boma

By Philip Thon Aleu

April 7, 2010 (BOR) – SPLM GoSS presidential team in Jonglei State extended electoral campaigns to Boma Payam, Pibor County. Boma, a code name for southern Sudan lowest administrative unit, is a major location the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A) controlled since 1985.

Referring to it occasionally as Mama SPLM, Baba SPLM (mother and father of SPLM), Boma is a home to Jie – the dominant ethnic group that lives in the area. Like other voters in Southern Sudan, Boma residents snapped the campaign rally to address local concerns that may threaten Sunday April 11 election including deadly raiding allegedly by Murle.

All locate speakers; from youth, woman to chiefs’ representatives complain of frequent attacks that prompted fierce call for ‘Boma County’ out of Pibor.

“You can not combine a cattle keeper with a [crop] farmer,” the head chief stressed to justify his claims that neighboring Murle who are pastoralists had frustrated land tilling here.

Captured from the government of Sudan by former rebel fighters, the SPLM/A, Boma is only town where the former southern guerilla established its full control during 25 years ago (since 1985). The SPLM dominance is visible in this green town, the only part of Jonglei State with equatorial climate and southern Sudan base for wild life – the future game reserve.

After explaining the campaign manifesto of “peace, freedom and prosperity” with ease, the Government of Southern Sudan’s Jonglei State Presidential team headed by Gen. John Kong Nyuon, turned down complains that SPLM had forgotten Boma but swiftly acknowledged that the high rates of crimes originates outside the Payam.

“Let the election proceed, we shall leave no stone unturned,” Kenede Gain, a former commissioner and a born from Pibor County said of insecurity.

Judi Jonglei Boyoris, the SPLM candidate for Boma/Gurumruk for the state geographical constituency meanwhile promised to work hard for a ‘Boma County’ once elected.

Gen. John Kong Nyuon explained that SPLM has rewarded the area with a pride by classifying administrative units less than a Payam as ‘Boma.’ adding categorically, any southern Sudanese knows that the last division of government unit is called a Boma.

As campaigns wind-up in Jonglei State, the path for SPLM leader winning Southern Sudan Presidency appears smooth but that of his colleagues, from governors to legislative assemblies is not.

Dr. Riek is a very selfish person who has no love for anybody in Sudan. He deserted SPLM/A for more than a decade. However, he refused to take 4th position in the SPLA leadership when he returned back. This greediness for power forced the innocent and nationalist CDR Wani Igga to decline his 3rd position for Dr. Riek and becomes the 4th in the SPLA Leadership. His deeds reflect his greediness. Dr. Riek could not have pity for poor Southern Sudanese people and spare the British woman who was serving the war-affected people in the South from marriage. In fact his egoistic tendency and lust for many women forced him to marry her and forced her to suffer till she died. Poor lady who loved him died in car accident in mysterious circumstances at Karen, Kenya; May God rest her soul in peace! What’s clear is that Riek Machar had many concubines already and had plans to marry a new wife by the time his loyal British wife died.
Reflecting on the above attitudes of Dr. Riek Machar, it truly shows and explains that despite the committal of many crimes against SPLM/A and the Southern Sudanese people, he still pursue his selfish ambition for leadership. In fact, soon after rejoining SPLM/A he planted seeds of discord between late Dr. Garang and Salva Kiir. The man was actually playing a double face role, until Dr. Garang suddenly died in a helicopter clash, and no one exactly knows the surrounding circumstances to that tragedy.now he Riek is in precinct in the movement between both the SPLA and the SPLM due to what the part member terms as pierce and asked Mr Kiir Mayardit to stay away from him Riek.

There is very important meeting going on now between four leading founder of the SPLA TO LOOK IN TO THE MISTAKE DONE BY KIIR MAYARDIT IN INFLUENCE OF RIEK MACHAR BECAUSED THEY SPLA DON’T TRUST HIM RIEK.
AND I HOPE THAT MEETING WILL CAME OUT WITH SAMETHING THAT WILL AFFECT RIEK MACHAR WILL. THANK GOD THERE IS SO MUCH MANY OFFICIAL IN THE SPLA AGANIST SYMBOL OF DEATH..

AFTER MR RIEK GONE THAN I WILL CHANGE MY NAMES TO SOMETHING ELSE. DEATH TO RIEK MACHAR TENY DOGZ

Boma is not populated by Jie it is Murle land since BC so don’t mistaken by said Boma habit ed by Jie is wrong, let to be first and last otherwise we can ask you seriously or we can ask to stay in Bor as you determine Bor report not Jonglei as all.
