Central African Republic, Sudan ink transportation protocols
May 27, 2011 (KHARTOUM) – Sudan and the Central African Republic (CAR) on Thursday signed a number of transportation-related agreements to facilitate the use of Port Sudan seaport for CAR’s exports and imports, construction of railways between the two neighbors, and resumption of direct flights between Khartoum and Bangui.
The protocols were signed at the Burj al-Fatih Hotel in Sudan’s capital of Khartoum on Friday. The signing ceremony comes days after a tripartite summit las Monday gathering Chadian and Central African presidents and their Sudanese counterpart.
The summit agreed to establish a consultative mechanism of the three countries to deal with security issues, enhance the peaceful co-existence among joint tribes and encourage voluntary return of refugees.
The two visiting presidents also signed a number of bilateral accords dealing with joint economic projects. Sudan and Chad will cooperate in oil exploration and roads construction to link Chad with Port Sudan on the Red See.
The agreements between Bangui and Khartoum provide for the conduct of road transportation of commodities, establishment of a free-trade zone, utilization of facilities and sea ports in eastern Sudan for CAR’s exports and imports, as well as the construction of a railway from Khartoum to Bangui, running through Chad.
Meanwhile, CAR’s Minister of State for the Development of Transport, Lt-Col Parfait Anicet Mbaye, announced that direct flights between Khartoum and Bangui would resume in the next few days.
Mbaye said that Port Sudan seaport would provide CAR with many services which would enable it to market its exports and receive its imports.
“We have also discussed with officials in Sudan the viability of constructing a railway connecting the two countries” he said.
Meanwhile, the deputy director-general of Sudan Seaport Corporation, Abdel Gadir Abu Ali, disclosed plans to expand Port Sudan seaport in order to accommodate demands for CAR’s exports and imports as well as those of South Sudan after it becomes an independent state in July.
The Sudanese official went on to reveal arrangements to waive fees on the movement of trade with CAR in order to encourage it to use Port Sudan seaport.

Central Republic of Africa is denying to recognize the independence of South Sudan,and that’s so cool too,but remember your only way to the old Sudan is through South Sudan.you will beg us to ship your stuffs before you reach in our border.don’t forget to sign another agreement with Southerners before you pass by to PortSudan.

Dear Mahammed Ali, do you think that there is any other possible way that link Khartoum with Central African Republic? May be you don’t know the map of Afican countries or you don’t know the countries bordering Old Sudan after South Sudan gets independence on 9th July.
Remember, Khartoum is ignoring our independence but once we get it we Arabs will be always begging for ways. Khartoum should better link strong relationship with South Sudan instead of increasing some aggression. Why should Khartoum do that; it is because Arabs know that: Fertile land, Oil, and other resources have gone with South Sudan and they are trying to forge their ways across South Sudan.
I will see if railway goes through air.

This is great news (if it’s done and not just proves to be a publicity stunt) because currently, Port Sudan is too small for our trade needs, not to mention our neighboring countries needs, so improving its capabilities in necessary.
However it is greater news for Darfur more than CAR and Chad as it will be properly linked with the rest of the country and hence realize its true potential easing the suffering of its people in the way (again if it’s done and not becomes a publicity propaganda). It is good also for transshipment of goods from the Atlantic to Red Sea as CAR is only 250 km from the railhead in Nyala and Chad is only 350 km too.

Dear Southern Sudanese,
I hate you waste your time responded subsequently to this Arab member through in this website particular crazy Mohamed, don’t ever wasted your time. The best thing to do is to be completely being very aware for mindset of Arab people around the world and not only Sudan, these people are cast and they right to die all. These people belief like their religion father who stealing water and hided them in the Sahara and claimed been a prophet. My confident reasoning is this, that evil transportation treaty is a deliberately moment of Sudan government and it army to go and come to attack us in wrong routines assuming to be CAR forces just patrolling the borders and advance toward South rather than attacking us direct without hidden. CAR and North Sudan are in cooperated for long war with southern Sudan. North Sudan is using CAR and transportation agreement as a tool to transported SAF hardware or army ammunitions. Southern Sudan commands have to be wisely thinkers when it comes too military critically strategies against the North. CPA was not a one man agreement whom she/he can decide anyhow, it signed by two parties and it has to be honored and respect by both two parties. Arab attitudes are negatives same to behaviors monkey in the garden, when monkey , they mean come for food but when you tell them leave because you haven’t permission , they automatically start destroying your unripe peanut and grind . They shout and run away while laughing, pulping and eating your properties without appreciation, this is what inhuman are doing to us. This aggression of Arab in north toward freedom of almighty South Sudan is revealing position of Arab in term of being human. Arab are reminding of what they were mistreated us in the pass when we together. They are telling us to do preparatory and concrete plan to keep them away. We need take amalgamated action to silent these Satan from louder celebration which now in the North otherwise their joy in capturing of Abyei will go beyond their capacity.

Why should you be bothered?!It is just redicuolous!Why should a transportation treaty with aneighbouring country be evil?Why should it cause you to vomit all this hatred?!Or is it your suspcious and superstitious mind set which makes you think that whatever we do is against you?

WE want , not only we but the realities demands that we should have a very strong relationship. For sure Sudan has got borders with CAF. But even thooug that doesn’t main the railways and transportation means should be extended to south Sudan , it is good for you and it is good for us. Nobody is against mutualbenfit and exchange of all types of human relationship, regardless of fertile or non-fertile land or oil.
We are looking to solve all problems friendly and amicably .Abeyei fight was not started by us. Abeyei can be an area of integration and not an area of war and devastation.What bothers me is that the SPLA has deployed its soldiers along the disputed borders. There is no need and it is dangerous. Instead of boycotting the border demarcation committee , it is better to attend the meetings and solve the problem amicable. War is not going to solve a problem , it complicates problems and raise the level of hatred!
What bothers me is hatred and mistrust in almost everything!

I think you are a well understanding person but you want to miss the right way of talking or responding to our claims. Actually,Abyei is taken by NCP to be the serious problem that Bashir even compared it with Gaza strip, Region of Marocco, and what the he said, and the world knows that Abyei is the homeland of Dinka Ngok. Your leader Bashir is also linking Mesireyia to Abyei which is so ridiculous at all.
About Railway to Central African Republic is that we are thinking of how will North Sudan connect to Central Africa with out involving Republic of South Sudan now? The question is so simple and clear. Nobody hate relationship with North because we had been once people of the same country but Arab Bureaucratic rules make South Sudanese break away and that you can’t blame South Sudanese this time round. It is up to North to have relationship with South Sudan or reject it.
As you know, that relationship can make mutual benefits to both sides.
