UN human rights expert to visit Sudan in mid-December

December 7, 2013 (KHARTOUM) – The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in Sudan Mashood Baderin will arrive in Khartoum on December 16th to partake in celebrations marking Human Rights day.

Sudan official news agency (SUNA) said that Baderin will present lectures on human right at several universities during his stay.

Baderin was appointed in March 2012 for this post with a mandate to assess and verify the human rights situation in Sudan in order to determine the technical assistance and capacity building needs of the government.
