Sudanese ruling party, southern faction ink political action programme

KHARTOUM, Oct. 3 (SUNA) – The [ruling] National Congress [party] signed a memorandum of understanding and an agreement on executive programme with Democratic Salvation Front – Greater Equatoria Sector.

Secretary of the South Department at the National Congress Ali Tamim Fartak signed for the National Congress, while chairman of the Democratic Salvation Front – Greater Equatoria Sector Robert Bandi signed for the front, in the presence of Secretary of the Political Department of the National Congress Dr. Magzoub Al-Khalifa and Acting Secretary General of the National Congress Dr. Nafie Ali Nafie.

Speaking following the signing ceremony, Dr. Al-Khalifa underscored the existing partnership experience between the National Congress and the Democratic Salvation Front to realize the aspirations of the citizens and realize stability.

Deputy Secretary General of the National Congress Dr. Riek Gai reviewed the challenges facing the country and the importance of unity of the national front. Acting Secretary General of the National Congress Dr. Nafie Ali Nafie spoke on the method of the party which presents a framework for real unity.
