RSF launches drone attacks on four Sudanese cities
November 7, 2025 (KHARTOUM) – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched coordinated drone attacks on Friday against four cities controlled by the Sudanese army: Omdurman, Atbara, El-Obeid, and Al-Dailang.
Military sources reported that RSF drones targeted the city of Atbara in River Nile State, northern Sudan, at dawn on Friday.
The army’s anti-aircraft defences repelled the drones, which were attempting to strike Atbara airport.
RSF drones also attacked Omdurman, west of the capital Khartoum. Army defences managed to shoot down the drones en route to hit the army headquarters at the Wadi Seidna military base, north of Omdurman, the sources said.
In Al-Dailang in South Kordofan State, the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) faction led by Abdulaziz al-Hilu launched heavy artillery shelling against the city for the second time in 24 hours.
Local sources said the shelling resulted in civilian casualties, similar to Thursday’s attack on Al-Dailang that killed six civilians, including a child.
An RSF drone also attacked several locations in El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State. The extent of the damage was not immediately clear.
The city of El-Obeid is under constant drone and artillery fire from RSF forces positioned in areas surrounding the city.
