SPLM-N accuses Sudan army of attacking positions in South Kordofan
November 27, 2025 (HABILA) – The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, accused the Sudanese army on Wednesday of attacking its positions in South Kordofan state.
Tensions in the region are escalating as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their ally, the SPLM-N, push increasing military reinforcements into eastern and western areas of the state, amid indications of plans to execute joint attacks targeting major cities.
The SPLA-N said in a statement that the Sudanese Armed Forces launched an attack on Wednesday, November 26, in the morning on its positions in the Kartala area of Habila Locality, in the Nuba Mountains region.
The statement added that their forces engaged the army for several hours and repelled the assault across three axes.
The Sudanese army did not immediately comment on the developments.
Over the past three weeks, the cities of Dilling and Kadugli—both under siege due to the shifting lines of control in South Kordofan—have been subjected to artillery attacks by the SPLA-N targeting service institutions and shelter centres, resulting in the deaths of dozens of civilians.
