March 12, 2026 (KHARTOUM) – Sudanese Prime Minister Kamel Idris on Thursday issued several decrees dismissing a senior cabinet official and two of his advisers, while dissolving the boards of various state-owned companies and government units.

The state-run Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported that the decisions included the relief of Cabinet Affairs Minister Lamia Abdel Ghaffar Khalaf Allah. The dismissals also extended to Idriss’s personal staff, specifically adviser Badr al-Din Ali Mohammed al-Juayfari and press adviser Mohamed Abdel Qader.

Idris also ordered the dissolution of the boards of directors of public-sector companies and government bodies. Among those affected was the Sudanese Consumer Goods Company, known as “Selaty,” which has now been moved under the direct oversight of the Ministry of Finance.

Selaty was established in 2020 by former Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok. The firm was designed to provide essential goods to citizens and stabilize local markets by curbing price hikes and addressing monopolies.

Press reports suggest that further limited cabinet reshuffles involving several ministerial portfolios are expected to be announced in the coming hours.
