Sudan’s Vice President back in Khartoum
Sept 15, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The First Vice President of the Republic, and president of the Government of Southern Sudan, Lt-Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit, returned to Khartoum on Thursday 15 September from Juba.
In Juba, Mayardit received the draft of the interim constitution for Southern Sudan, as well as the nominations for the legislative council for southern Sudan.
Hr pointed out in press statement that while in Juba he had discussed with the officials there the important questions, top of which is the question of security in the area.
The first vice-president met, while in Juba, with officials of a number of international and national organizations and reviewed with them the requirements for the interim period as stipulated in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).
