British international development secretary due in Sudan 9 December
KHARTOUM, Dec 08, 2003 (SUNA) — The British Minister of International Development Hilary Benn is to arrive in Khartoum Tuesday [9 December] evening on a three-day visit to Sudan at the invitation of Minister of International Cooperation Yusuf Takana.
The British minister will meet on Wednesday with Minister of International Cooperation Yusuf Takana and other senior Sudanese officials on boosting cooperation between the two countries. He is also to meet with representatives of Sudanese political parties to affirm the commitment of the United Kingdom to assist Sudan in realizing peace and effecting sustainable development.
The visit will also tackle preparations for the flow of the British aid to Sudan during the post-war stage.
It is worth noting that the British minister affirmed his country’s commitment to assist Sudan to reach just and durable peace and the importance of international support to Sudan after realization of peace.
