Hamas leader tells Sudanese they produce and smuggle weapons
September 9, 2009 (KHARTOUM) – The leader of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas who is visiting Sudan said today his group produces and smuggles weapons.
“Your brothers in Palestine, despite the blockade and the closing of border passages … despite the fleets from east and west, despite all of this, we buy arms, we manage to produce arms and we smuggle arms,” he said in a speech to youth conference of the ruling National Congress Party.
Meshaal statements come after an air raid carried in eastern Sdaun last January by Israeli warplanes on a convoy suspected of smuggling weapons to Hamas-held territory in Gaza through Egypt.
The Sudanese army admitted the air strike and said it consulted with the Egyptians and other parties.
After talks with the Sudanese President yesterday, Meshaal said he discussed with Omer Al-Bashir reconciliation efforts sponsored by the Egypt.
He further said Hamas was keen on the success of reconciliation efforts led by Egyptian and Sudan, adding it was the only way to settle difference with the Palestinian authority.
Last August, the President of the Palestinian authority was in Khartoum for talks with President Al-Bashir over ongoing Arab efforts to settle difference with Hamas.
The Palestinian president plans to hold election in January 2010. Hamas said it would not go to legislative and presidential elections before signing a reconciliation deal that ends the current internal rift.

please don’t panic, SPLA is ready to clean the country against any atemted dogs in south our land not north. you will be very glad to hear that SPLA bought 30,000,000 aircrafts to attacking Khartoum in 2011 refrendum if NCP refuse to allow South to be come it own state just wait you will hear that SPLA capture Khartuom while JEM capture Omduroman. how sweet is that?
