The Bor county commissioner, Mamer Ruk told Sudan Tribune that two boys and a girl within the age ranges of 7-12 were abducted.

“These criminals are suspected to be Murle,” Ruk said by phone on Wednesday.

He added, “Forces in Pibor at the border with Bor county were instructed by David Yauyau to monitor and find out these criminals”.

Eyewitnesses claim the trio were abducted as they moved to a water point and that their abductors were confirmed to be Murle.

No one, according to the commissioner, was injured during the incident.

Both Bor county and the Greater Pibor Area Administration (GPAA) have been working hard to create peace to completely eradicate child abductions and cattle raids.

The commissioner suspects some politicians from Pibor are behind the youth that are still committing crimes of abduction and raiding..

“We cannot actually blame him [Yauyau] for these ongoing criminalities, because he is trying his best but there are some elements within GPAA who are against what Yauyau is doing, by tracking and bringing the abducted children back to their families, and working to create peace within and outside the GPAA”, said Ruk.

“The community should remain claim, we have contacted Yauyau to help us in track these children and bring them back home”, he added.

The GPAA information minister, Sam David said his government had established a an effective mechanism to manage cross border criminals.

“Our corporation with Bor county is very high, we need to work together to avoid killing of innocent people and abduction of children,” he said. Those who abducted the three children, he said, came from Kubal county, but that efforts were ongoing to recover them.
