One killed in drone attack on Kadugli hospital

February 4 2026 (KADUGLI) – At least one person was killed, and eight others were injured on Wednesday when a drone belonging to an alliance of the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement struck a military hospital in the South Kordofan capital, Kadugli.

The strike on the facility occurred less than 24 hours after a similar attack on another medical site in the city killed at least 15 people, including seven children.

Razan al-Mahdi, spokesperson for the Sudanese Doctors’ Network, said in a statement that the RSF and the SPLM targeted the hospital with a drone. She noted the facility continues to provide essential medical services even as nearly 50% of the city’s health infrastructure has been knocked out of service by shelling and a blockade.

The spokesperson said the systematic targeting of medical facilities and civilian neighbourhoods violated international law and caused widespread harm to unarmed civilians.

On January 3, the army and its allies from the Joint Force and mobilization units reached Kadugli following fierce battles against the RSF and the SPLM, ending a siege of the city that had lasted for more than two years.
